Corvid 44 12G BNC

Overview

Corvid 44 12G BNC boasts four bidirectional 12G-SDI spigots with a Reference Input. 8K Input or Output is possible using quad 12G-SDI cables and 4K/UltraHD I/O can be achieved with either a single 12G-SDI or 6G-SDI cable, or quad 3G-SDI cables. 2K/HD I/O can be achieved with a single SDI cable or dual link SDI, while allowing capture and monitoring via SDI to take place simultaneously.

Corvid 44 12G BNC is available with either active (fan) vs. passive cooling (no fan), with both versions supporting RS-422 and LTC Input via headers on the top edge of the card.

Other Corvid 44 12G models are available, including low profile versions with HD-BNC connections.

Raster and Frame Rate Support

Corvid 44 12G BNC supports 8K (8192 x 4320) and UltraHD2 (7680 x 4320) High Frame Rate (HFR) workflows up to 50/60p for the most demanding applications. Film rates of 23.98, 24, 47.95 and 48p are also supported across 8K, 4K, and 2K.

High frame rates are also available on multiple I/O 4K, UltraHD, 1080p and 720p HD up to 50/60p, making Corvid 44 12G BNC extremely flexible for your current and future needs.

Hardware Keying

The built-in hardware downstream keyer allows graphics and images to be easily overlaid on the input video in real time up to 4K. 


AJA Control Room Metadata Toolset

Metadata is the key for managing advanced workflows. AJA is bringing to market an entirely new way to harvest metadata in the SDI signal stream and export the metadata to a sidecar file.

This new feature, called AJA Control Room Metadata Toolset*, is being introduced in Desktop Software v17.1 and adds the following functionality:

  • Supports capture of any metadata type, including SCTE-104 and Dolby Vision metadata, that is part of the SDI Ancillary metadata payload.

  • Using an AJA KONA capture card that supports SDI input and the included AJA Control Room software (such as KONA 5 or KONA X), the card captures the metadata, which is then preserved in a metadata sidecar file.

  • AJA Control Room can playback the metadata to provide quality monitoring.

  • AJA Control Room can export the metadata synchronized with the media on a per-frame basis.

Reference and LTC Input

Corvid 44 12G BNC provides one external, switchable LTC/Reference Input connection on the back of the card.

RS-422

A built-in RS-422 connection is available as an "internal" connection via a header on Corvid 44 12G BNC. RS-422 allows control of external devices for frame accurate ingest and layoffs.
