What are the differences between the KONA-IP-R0 and the KONA-IP-R0-S02?

Category: FAQ

Released: 2019-04-10

A:

KONA-IP-R0 offers support for up to 4K/UltraHD with SMPTE ST 2110, support for up to 2K/HD with 2022-6, the ability to take advantage of 2022-7 redundancy for high availability architectures, and an option for compressed TR-01 JPEG 2000 workflows.

KONA-IP-R0-S02 offers the same as the above, with the exception that in this iteration of the device, the BNC connector (used for ST 2022-6 support) is not present, in order to accommodate fit in DL 680 servers (i.e. some IT style servers cannot fit the protruding BNC connector, and if the card is destined for a facility where ONLY ST 2110 is intended, then the timing will be done via PTP and the BNC connector is not needed. If customers are going to use (or might use) ST 2022-6 then the BNC connector is required and model KONA-IP-R0 should be ordered instead.
