This release includes support for Apple's new Final Cut Pro 7, along with closed captioning support for Final Cut Pro 7, MacCaption, VTR Xchange, and AJA TV
via QuickTime Closed Captioning Tracks (KONA 3, LHi, LHe, and LSe), full VANC data capture and playback support on a per-frame basis for all Apple ProRes formats, and support for new Apple ProRes formats (requires Final Cut Pro 7). This release adds 1080 VFR Support, plus many other general improvements and fixes (read the included release notes for details). This new 1080 VFR feature is particularly useful for extracting 23.98 fps from a 1080i 29.97 fps HD-SDI signal such as the one provided by the Canon XH G1S.

This 6.0.2 NDD version is recommended for OS X 10.5.2 or later users. Note: The AJA KONA driver version 6.0.2 NDD is the same as driver version 6.0.2, but removes the Macintosh Desktop Display feature.

With the regular version of the 6.0.2 driver, some users may experience issues with Quartz Extreme, the behavior of their computer displays, and in some cases, boot up issues may occur with certain graphics cards installed. If any of the issues mentioned occur, the driver version 6.0.2 NDD should be used instead of version 6.0.2

This 5.1 NDD version is recommended for OS X 10.5.2 users. Note: The AJA KONA driver version 5.1 NDD is the same as driver version 5.1, but removes the Macintosh Desktop Display feature.

With the regular version of the 5.1 driver, some users may experience issues with Quartz Extreme, the behavior of their computer displays, and in some cases, kernel panics may occur with certain graphics cards installed. If any of the issues mentioned occur, the driver version 5.1 NDD should be used instead of version 5.1. Driver version 5.1 NDD is also the recommended version for use with the latest Intel Xserve with Xeon 5400 series processors, model (MA882LL/A).

Special Note Regarding ProRes 422:
Capturing HD resolution ProRes 422 from an HD source requires the use of a qualified capture card and a Mac Pro with an Intel Xeon processor or G5 Quad PCIe Power Mac. Real-time capture and transcoding of HD to ProRes 422 is not supported on other models of G5 or G4 Power Mac computers.

This release is specifically designed to support Apple's Final Cut Studio 2. This is the first release of the AJA Mac Plug-Ins for Adobe, which include application plug-ins for Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop (user manual included in the download). This initial release is version 6.0, keeping parity with required KONA driver software (also version 6). AJA's Mac Plug-ins for Adobe offer capabilities to the Mac Adobe user not found anywhere else, for use with industry-best AJA KONA products. Some of the many powerful new features include:

• Native QuickTime, DPX, CIN, TIFF, TGA file support, within Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, After Effects and Photoshop
• Native real-time 10-bit RGB editing in Premiere Pro CS3
• Unique and powerful application interfaces within supported Adobe CS3 applications
• Free for all KONA users
