Note: For users of AJA desktop products on Apple OSX 10.3.9 or OSX 10.4.x Tiger, whose storage is Apple Xserve RAID, we strongly recommend installing the following driver update from Apple:

This is for AJA KONA or Io installations that use Apple Xserve RAID as storage, and are running OSX 10.3.9 or OSX 10.4.x Tiger. This Apple update addresses certain Xserve RAID I/O write issues that have been reported.

System Recommendations

Minimum Io and Io LA / LD System Requirements:

  • Power Mac G4, dual 800 MHz (or single 933 MHz G4); use a minimum dual 1GHz for RT.
  • For portable operation, a 17" Powerbook with dual port FireWire 800 PCMCIA card (see Frequently Asked Questions for additional information on this PowerBook configuration).
  • Follow the RAM requirements specified for your Final Cut Pro system configuration in the Final Cut documentation. At least 2GB RAM is recommended.
  • For storage, use 4 ATA/IDE or 4 SCSI hard drives configured as a RAID. Use OS X version 10.2.5 or newer.

Io, Io LA, Io LD Recommended System:

Power Mac dual G5 with Apple Xserve RAID for storage. OS X Panther or later is recommended.
