XENA HS is the culmination of joint development with Adobe Systems to deliver turnkey desktop software and hardware for native full-resolution capture, editing and playback in SD and HD. Working via Adobe's Open HD certification program, in which AJA has been an early collaborator, Adobe implemented support for AJA's XENA HS real-time HD-SDI I/O card in the new Adobe Production Studio, which features a streamlined workflow with products including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro.
XENA HS support is among the top new features in Premiere Pro 2.0, allowing post-production editors, videographers and multimedia creative professionals to input and output high-speed, uncompressed digital audio/video under full control of the Adobe software for integrated capture, playback and print to tape.
With XENA HS, you also get AJA's own plug-ins for capture, preview and export within Adobe PhotoShop, and for preview within After Effects.

Record, Review & Print SD/HD Video with Adobe's New Premiere 2.0 & the Adobe Production Studio
Running on Windows XP and working under Adobe's Production Studio software, the XENA HS supports both SD and HD Serial Digital Video I/O for capture and playback. XENA HS has one SDI video input, one SDI video output, as well as support for six channels of AES audio I/O.
AES/EBU Audio Inputs & Outputs - 15-Pin D-Connector
One female 15-pin D-connector is provided for six channels of AES/EBU inputs and outputs. The connector attaches to a six-XLR breakout cable supplied with the XENA card module. XENA AES/EBU audio is 24-bit/48khz. All AES inputs support asynchronous audio at 32-96kHz.
Reference Input - BNC
This BNC connector allows you to synchronize outputs to your house reference video signal (or black burst). If you have a sync generator or central piece of video equipment to use for synchronizing other video equipment in your studio, then connect its composite output here. When XENA outputs video it locks to this reference signal.
SDI Input & Output - 2 BNCs (SD/HD)
These BNC connectors are for connecting serial digital video input and output devices (respectively). SD signals are 10-bit or 8-bit SMPTE-259. HD signals are 10-bit or 8-bit SMPTE-292.
