AJA Announces HD10AVA and RD10MD Converters at NAB 2006

AJA Video, a leading manufacturer of professional video interface and conversion solutions, announces two new additions to the company’s line of Standard Definition and High Definition converters, the HD10AVA and the RD10MD. The HD10AVA is a highquality, HD/SD audio and video A/D miniature converter, while the RD10MD is a 10-bit, broadcast-quality card for dual down-conversion from HD to SD. Both products are being announced at this year’s NAB trade show, April 24th- 27th, 2006, in Las Vegas. These new converters will be on display at AJA’s converter technology booth, SU5125, and the HD10AVA will also be showcased alongside AJA’s complete line of award-winning desktop video products in booth SL4913.

The HD10AVA offers high-quality, audio and video HD/SD Analog to Digital conversion in a compact size. The HD10AVA is especially useful for adding SDI/HD-SDI output to most HDV cameras or decks by using the HD analog component outputs of such devices. The converter automatically detects the video input format and also embeds the 4-channel XLR audio inputs into the SDI/HD-SDI outputs.
The RD10MD allows customers to down convert HD to SD at10 bit, broadcast-quality. The dual-channel converter features three re-clocked input loop HD/SD SDI outputs (two on Channel 1 and one on Channel 2), with two down-converted outputs on each channel that can be independently configured as SDI or composite analog. The RD10MD supports all HD formats and 24p/psf with 3:2 pulldown. SD output can be formatted for 16:9 monitors or 4:3 monitors in Letterbox and Crop modes. The RD10MD is also dualrate (HD/SD), supporting either SDI or HD-SDI inputs, and is compatible with AJA’s FR1 or FR2 frames.

HD10AVA is priced at $990 US MSRP and is expected to be available in May 31. RD10MD retails at
